Fri 1 Nov

There used to be a supporting wall here...

... halfway between those green supports.

Standing in the boiler room, trying to ignore the rather comical loo, you start to get an impression of how big the diner/kitchen will be.

That blue/tiled wall there - the original external wall - will also come down soon. That's where the kitchen island will be, with a breakfast bar on this side and the kitchen proper beyond.

"Brew up, love... I SAY, BREW UP, LOVE...."

"...THEN BRING IT OVER HERE...."

As one wall comes down, another goes up. While the structural squad are busy at the back, the others have been putting the partition wall up between the utility and the den.

There'll be a sink there, in time...

Meanwhile, in the kids' den...

...which will also double as a TV room (and treble as a guest bedroom).

Out the back, they've been digging, presumably to check the foundations of the main walls.

Another hole over yonder, and helpfully that means they've started moving that defunct flowerbed, which we'll be replacing: that's where the bifolding doors will end up in "open" mode. But the bifolds don't arrive till the last week of November. Next up is more structural work, then the first of two window-fitting sessions...
