Mon 18 Nov

Ikea delivery day: The kitchen arriveth. (Ath doth the utility.)

Little bits in the music room, big bits (fridge-freezers, ovens) in the garage. (Still calling it a garage, because it still feels like one, what with having a garage door because the bricks haven't arrived to sort out the front wall.)

Upstairs, the master bedroom's en-suite is starting to take shape. Whirlpool bath! Posh sink!

Toilet pan! Shower tray!

Ella's bed continues to come on. She now has a desk...

...and a doored-off hanging space.

Lodger's bedroom: basically a chippy's workshop.

Top-floor bathroom has been roughly plastered - no point finessing it as the walls will be all tiles bar the cupboard bits.

Back down on the ground floor, the drain path to the utility room has been concreted level. Note wooden bar across the door threshold - although you can't tell from this angle, it's a three-inch drop into the utility room, a difference purposefully retained from the original garage floor as a precaution against flooding. (Do washing machines flood any more? Anyway, it's lower down.)

One thing that's not change for a while: that lintel. A week after the emergency meeting to check it would work, still no movement on-site - but the steels should arrive tomorrow, so the structural boys can bat on; coupled with the scheduled arrival of the bricks for the garage, and of course the Ikea kitchen, there's plenty to be getting on with...
