Sat 9 Nov

When you have a problem, do what you can about it and don't worry about what you can't change.

Friday had brought three problems: structural worries over the lintel, questions over the copper pipes and fears over window condensation. Research showed that the condensation is usual, not a problem and quickly goes away. Discussion with the internal builders revealed that they didn't know we wanted to keep the copper, but plastic is fine (research backed this up) and the removed copper piping might make a bob or two down the scrappers'. As for the structural, there's nothing we can do about that till Monday.

What we can do is go over to the site, check progress... and start stripping those top bedrooms.

First, a check downstairs and they've been filling in those pipes...

Here they are, stretching toward the downstairs 'cloakroom'.

They've been boxing in the en-suite. As in, they have been erecting plasterboard inside the en-suite, rather than staging pugilistic bouts in there.

Nat came along to help strip her bedroom wall. We've borrowed a steam-stripper but most of the wallpaper upstairs is woodchip, so you have to strip the top layer off before steaming it off.

At least Ella's walls came off easily enough.

Returning later Natless to complete her wall...

...and have a fair swing at the lodger's wall.
